Sleepy

No mischief to report of today. Pickle was taking a little nap on her perch until I woke her up while trying to take a pic.

Dirty Bird

Pickle has a weird ritual when taking a bath. First she'll check out the situation to make sure the coast is clear. Then when everything is kosher she'll go nuts and splash around. Crazy bird. Must be some kind of bird - predator instinct.

Tricky Bird

She's getting more used to the camera. I got some video of her doing some tricks. She'll do anything for sunflower seeds.

Pickle speaks!

I got some video of Pickle this morning. She was still spooked a little by the camera, but she came around. If you can't hear it she says "step up" at the beginning and "hello" at the end.

Update:
I just added a second video where you can hear her better.

Camera Shy

Now I remember why I don't have many pictures of Pickle. I tried to take a picture of her on top of her cage but she ran back inside when she saw the camera. In general she's pretty skiddish to unfamiliar things or people. After I put the camera away she ran back out and flew onto my shoulder. I just need to get her used to the camera so I can get more pics and videos.

Pickle at 9 Weeks

This is either Pickle or one of her siblings at 9 weeks. Birds definitely do look much better with feathers. Baby sun conures have more green and blue feathers. Pickle turned more orangey yellow after her first few molts. This is the last of Pickle's baby pictures.

Pickle at 5 weeks

I'm thinking Pickle is the one on the left since she's smaller than most sun's i've seen. Still pretty ugly, but starting to look cute.

Pickle at 3 weeks

Not sure which one is Pickle, I was told by the breeder she was the 2nd hatched. So she's probably not the one with pin feathers.

Pickle at 2 weeks

Still kinda scary looking, starting to get fuzzy.

Introducing Pickle the sun conure

Pickle was hatched on August 20, 2005. I bought her from a breeder that hand fed her until she was weened on pelleted food. The breeder was great in sending me pics on her progression, she obviously took great care of her birds.

I'm going to post some pics of her from when she was hatched so you can see her progression. This is a picture of Pickle and her siblings at 1 week old. They look like little aliens.
